International (Ends of the Earth)

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

Parkview believes in missions that impact not only the local, state and regional areas of North America but also the international countries of our world. We are working with thousands of other churches to support approximately 5300 missionaries impacting more than 1100 people groups around the world. In addition, Parkview encourages our members to go on short term mission trips in teams to the countries of  Mexico, Venezuela, Turkey, India, and Russia.

Below you will see some of the countries and related ministries that Parkview supports and prays for around the world.

 Southern Baptist Cooperative Program

It promotes evangelism, church planting, theological training, social and humanitarian services.  Gilead Church and Gilead Evangelical Theological Seminary (GETS) are under the umbrella of “Gilead Ministries Trust.”

Mexico Ministry

Parkview’s Sewing Seeds Ministry first traveled to Piedras Negras, Mexico in 2013. The team was not there long before we had found our hearts connected with the missionaries’ hearts working in the Biblioteca and the Dunamis Church. We were immediately busy with setting up a sewing room for the women’s ministry. The men quickly got busy with a long list of construction needs to be tackled. Each afternoon the children from the neighborhood would come to the biblioteca (library) and we would play, read, craft and sing with them.

Parkview now serves alongside the Vine & Branches and Dunamis church in Piedras Negras to reach their growing community. Each trip short term trip by Parkview is covered with prayer and undergirded with detailed planning. The two-fold vision for our ministry there:

1. Evangelize the women and children through sewing, cooking, children’s activities and Bible studies

2. Continue building projects to expand the Dunamis church facility and connect new believers to this body of believers

Peru Missions

Parkview partners with the church in Peru by sending teams to do both evangelical and medical missions. We have been part of planting many churches around the country and have seen hundreds of people come to know the Lord on these trips. The churches we work with do an excellent job following up with these people to help get them plugged in and continue their discipleship. We plan for two trips each year to Peru. The first trip involves a lot of ministry for children, including Vacation Bible School and sharing the gospel in public schools. We also work all day to put on crusades at night and do everything possible to help the local churches we are working with. The second trip we take is in October. This is a medical mission in the middle of the jungle. Our medical mission like everything we do in Peru is very evangelical and in partnership with the local churches.

Up with Down Ministry

Up with Down, founded in 2000 by Parkview member Frank Baxter is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Voronoezh, Russia.  The center for children with Down Syndrome accepts children of all ages.  The staff includes a full time teacher as well as a full time administrator.  In addition, the children have access to a part time therapist to assist with their physical needs.  The Up with Down School operates on a monthly budget that is supplied by donations.

Venezuela Missions

For over 20 years, Parkview has partnered directly with churches in central Venezuela.  What began as a construction project at one church has grown into a partnership with more than 100 churches and missions in the states of Portuguesa, Lara, Tachira, Cohedes, Barinas, Yaracuy, Apure, Bolivar and Amazonas.  For the previous three years, our support has provided over 1000 pastoral study libraries and 1000 Bibles; has completed construction for 16 church buildings, purchased 13 house-church sites, two people mover trucks, computers, tablets, cell phones and helped with many medical needs.  During the past year we have also taught three pastor’s conferences, preached in more than 45 churches, participated in door to door evangelism and published four books on discipleship.   Additionally, we have purchased a house, truck and boat and motor for reaching indigenous unreached people groups within the Oronoco River basin, and helped meet many other financial needs of poor church leaders.
