Class overview and directors

2006 Ministry Roles and Responsibilities

Sunday School Teacher: Jerry Deitz. Prepares and presents the Sunday School Lesson each week to the class through the guidance of the Holy Spirit; leads class members to a deeper understanding of God’s Word and how it applies to our lives today.

Class Moderator: Brett Brown. Reads church announcements and takes prayer requests; helps facilitate other announcements that need to be made during Sunday School; updates the announcements and prayer requests weekly and periodically sends these out to class members via e-mail. (Bob Thornton, assistant)

Secretary: Jackie Thornton. Greets visitors and has him or her complete a visitor information slip; records weekly attendance, including visitors; orders necessary supplies; keeps class clipboard updated.

In-Reach Leader: Susan Yokum. Contacts members (via letter, phone, or personal visit) who have been absent for a couple of weeks; coordinates special needs (e.g. meals, moves, etc.) for class members. Also keeps in contact with class members who are teaching.

Out-reach Leader: Jamie Prokopova. Contacts class visitors; recruits other class members to help with visitation on Tuesday nights.

Prayer Chain Leader: Richard Carson. Develops a prayer chain phone list and keeps it updated; serves as first point of contact to begin the prayer chain when necessary.

Fellowship/Finger Food Leaders (FFD: Angela Bax & Barbara Deitz. Coordinates all Sunday School fellowship activities, including setting dates, making reservations, and helping choose party themes. Maintain a list of snack providers for Sunday morning.

Men’s Night Out/Event Leader: Bob Thornton. Coordinates all Sunday School men’s fellowship activities, including setting dates and making reservations.

Class Missions: Natalie Burnette & Jamie Prokopva. Coordinates specific mission needs/projects that our class would oversee.
