Global Impact Huge Success!

Parkview’s first-ever Global Impact Celebration was one incredible weekend! With missionaries present from all over the world, Parkview members were challenged to be a “light in the darkness.” The weekend kicked-off was an amazing banquet where the missionaries were introduced, wonderful music was heard and a powerful message was delivered from God’s Word. That night, missions booths were set-up in the Family Life Center and everyone was given the opportunity to “walk around the world” where they could personally meet the missionaries and hear about what God was doing in their part of the world.

On Sunday morning, Dr. Daniel Hatfield, from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, preached a wonderful message from God’s Word in all three morning services. All the missionaries were also present and able to share in each of our Sunday School classes that morning (over 25 different classes). Many people took a stroll “around the world” (looking at the missions booths), while taking advantage of the Global Impact Café, where they could stop and get some breakfast and coffee, milk or juice.

On Sunday evening, the GIC wrapped up with a touching closing service, where a special time of prayer was held for the missionaries, as well as an final Candlelight experience where once again, all present were challenged to not “commit” to be a missionary, but instead to “surrender” to God’s call on their life and be willing to “do whatever and go wherever” He leads them! What an incredible time we had this weekend. Thanks to all who made this event so special…and let’s keep praying for God to fan the flame of missions in the hearts of His people…”For the Fame of His Name”!
