Greater Things - A Kingdom Journey

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:12-14

Every great journey begins with a single step and on September 13, 2009, Parkview Baptist Church embarked on a life changing spiritual adventure to be all that God has called us to be! Over the next sixteen weeks and into the next three years we will study God’s Word, pray without ceasing and give of our selves and our resources to faithfully step out and accomplish Greater Things for our Lord! In the amazing journey we will see a congregation rise up to its fullest potential, lives changed, families united and a vibrant witness given as we seek to sound forth the Good News, Jesus Saves!

What is the purpose of the Greater Things...A Kingdom Journey Stewardship Campaign? The Kingdom Stewardship Campaign will provide the funds needed to maximize the use of our facilities/campus as outlined in the Master Site Plan approved in November, 2008 by the Church and provide funding to further our missional strategy.

What are the important dates to remember during this journey?

40 Days of Prayer - Sunday, October 4 - An awesome Devotional Prayer guide written by our very own Parkview members will be distributed and together as a church we will begin on October 5th forty days of concentrated prayer and spiritual self evaluation as we seek God’s will and direction for our lives and His church!

Combined Adult Sunday School - On Sunday, October 11th all adult Sunday School classes will meet together in Fellowship Hall during their normal Sunday School hour. This will be a great time of fellowship, Bible Study and Question & Answer.

Challenging Bible Study Lessons - Beginning Sunday, October 18th thru Sunday, November 8th we will actively search the Word of God as we learn of David’s understanding and example of faithful obedience.

24 hours of Prayer - October 23-24th we will participate in a 24 hour time of prayer as we come together on our faces before the Living God to humbly seek him and turn from our selfish sin. Each member will be given the opportunity and privilege to sign up for a time to be at the church to pray around the clock.

Celebration Sunday - Sunday, November 15th we will come together at 9:00am and 10:30am to praise our mighty God, offer thanks for the way He is working and pledge our commitments.

Victory Sunday - Sunday, November 22nd is the day that our pledges to God’s work through the Stewardship Campaign will be announced.

“First Gifts” Sunday, December 6th will be the day we joyfully bring our first portion of the commitments we have made to God.
