Fall 2016 Discipleship Classes

Pastor’s Study: Pastor Steve will continue his verse-by-verse study through Matthew. He will pick up where he left off at the end of spring. If you are new to the study or a repeat attender, this class will inspire your hunger for and increase your understanding of the Word.

A Beautiful Design: This study is great for understanding your identity and who God created you to be. God created us to function according to His perfect design, and for all of human history, our world has been male and female. But our ever-changing culture faces challenges due to sin. More than ever the church needs to be a safe refuge for the gender confused, the sexually broken, the single, the married, and the divorced. In this 9-session study, pastor Matt Chandler gives evidence that God’s plan for man and woman is the ultimate design. And life lived within this beautiful and
unchanging design leads to our greatest joy. Study led by Pastor Brent

Nehemiah: We are repeating this 7-session Bible study for women by Kelly Minter. Nehemiah's heart was so broken for those in need that he left the comfort of his Persian palace to help them. Like Kelly's other studies in the Living Room Series, you'll find authentic Bible teaching, recipes, and a relational approach. Nehemiah also includes 7 video sessions and real-life ways to put feet to your faith. Are you ready to let God break your heart for a hurting, lost world and move you in compassion to be the hands and feet of Jesus? Study led by LeeAnn Lewis.

Bible Storying: Missionaries Paul and Robin Tinley will once again lead a class that teaches us to share the Gospel by conveying the Bible through stories. This study was a huge hit last Spring. If you are
interested in sharing the Gospel but have been unsure how to approach it, this study will bring clarity and give you greater insight and opportunity to learn a method that is relevant to any culture.

What Love Is: (This study will begin after the conclusion of the Nehemiah study.) The Letters of 1, 2 & 3 John were written to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. Believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in the light instead of darkness, truth versus lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness. This 7-session study not only reveals the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus. Deanna Higgins is planning to lead this study.
